COCONUT, THE DRYAD

At the branch of the amber tree, Melanie struggled with her binds. The sticky substance on her hands had already hardened and she was bumping her hands together. Soon the amber started to crack, but se still had to free her arms from the vines wrapping her torso and the amber keeping her glued to the tree.

Mumbling behind her gag, Melanie finally got her hands free from the amber. She then started to pull the vines with all her strength. The redheaded bit the vines gagging her as she fought hard.

As she continued fighting, for her surprise, the vines retracted and freed her. Also the resin keeping her behind stuck to the tree was reabsorbed into the branch. Melanie turned around and saw Limon holding her staff.

“You won’t get away this time.” Melanie said cracking her knuckles.

“Wait, Cherry. I’ve been trained to fight most elementals. I know your weaknesses.” Limon stated. “Please calm down.”

“My name is Melanie, Salad-dressed.” Melanie said in anger.

Melanie tried to punch Limon. The guardian simply moved to the side and grabbed her wrist. She then placed behind her and held her tightly.

“Look, we can settle this other time, Melanie.” Limon told Melanie. “Right now your friend needs your help with the fire.”

“Trixie!” Melanie exclaimed while seeing smoke at the distance and she left.

At the fire, Trixie with difficulty was freeing the other leg of Berry. She was coughing repeatedly and didn’t look good. She finally dug out the cursed fairy from the ground and pushed her away from the fire, but she was too tired. Coughing she knelt and took a rest.

“Don’t give up, Brave one.” The plant fairy said while looking at the flammable liquid engulfing the grass near them.

Trixie couldn’t keep up and fainted. The tree transformed fae was lying on the ground with Trixie unconscious over her wooden torso. Berry looked at her branch arms as she tried desperate to move them, but it was impossible.

Melanie arrived and located Trixie. She tried to pick her up, but the fairy godmother embraced the trunktightly. She then murmured. “Save Berry, Melanie.”

Melanie remained puzzled and then she heard a voice. “Melanie, she refers to me. I’ve been punished and turned into a bush. Fire and wood don’t get along.”

Melanie remained surprised for a moment and then reacted. She pulled both fairies out of the fire for more than a couple of feet away into safety. Melanie then tried to help Trixie regain consciousness when Limon arrived. The guardian tossed water over the bushes with her plastic water and then went with the fairies.

Limon examined Trixie and told Melanie. “She is fine, she just breathe some smoke. I can make her recover faster using plant magic.

While Limon used her magic on Trixie, she asked Melanie. “Can you extinguish the flames, Melanie?”

“I used to, but since Trixie summoned me into this place, I can only use fire magic.” Melanie stated moving her hands toward the burning plants.

After a couple of minutes, Trixie recovered and stood up. She quickly looked out for Berry and found her leaning against a rock where Melanie had placed her. By this time the fire had covered the double of surface. Melanie and Limon were both using bottles to put out the fire.

Trixie went with Berry and asked. “How we are doing?”

“Not good, the bush fairy stated.” Berry said sadly. “The fire is too big for just two fairies and there are animals trapped over those trees.

“I think I can help up.” Trixie said picking up her wand. “I’ll be back.”

Trixie flew to where Limon and Melanie. “Berry says there are animals trapped. Get them; I’ll get rid of the fire.”

Melanie and Limon complied and dropped the bottles. Trixie flew back to Rachel’s apartment. She got in using a hole Melanie had made go out freely. In the apartment she found Rachel eating the treats Trixie had made for her early that morning.

“Rachel! You got to help me!” Trixie exclaimed flying around the woman.

“Now what, Trixie.” Rachel said unimpressed.

“I need you to wish for rain over the park!” The fairy replied anxious.

“I won’t fall for this. Last time I wished for something like that, you made it rain coins here inside my living room. No thanks.” Rachel said without even looking at her. “You should make more of these fruit threats.

Trixie flew to Rachel’s face and grasped her lips. “Rachel, there’s a fire in the park. The other fairies are trying to put it out but it’s too big. Please wish for a rain on the park to stop the fire.”

Rachel raised an eyebrow and placed the bowl on the coffee table. She headed to the window and looked at the park. From that distance only a line of smoke was visible as the fire was hidden among the other trees.

Rachel turned to Trixie. “What are you waiting for? I want rain over the park to extinguish the fire.”

“Yes ma’am!” Trixie replied smiling.

Rachel opened the window and Trixie flew out. She watched the tiny fae doing her magic. Then the woman picked up her cell phone and dialed 911.

“Better to be sure.” Rachel stated.

Minutes later, the fire truck arrived to the park with their siren on. The firemen quickly got down the truck and got their equipment ready, but they stopped. They looked at the park astonished. Over the park was a small grey cloud. The cloud was around fifty feet over the ground and was raining. The rain line ended precisely on the edge of the sidewalk around the park.

Misbelieving, one of the firemen approached the rain curtain. He took off his thick glove and introduced his hand into the rain. The rest of the firefighters dropped their tools and the chief took his helmet off to scratch his head.

After the rain ceased, the fairies were helping the creatures return their homes at the trees. By the time the firefighters left, they were placing back the last one of them. It was a nest Limon and Trixie were placing over one of the affected trees. It was housing four nestlings.

“I think that’s the last one” Limon said to Trixie. “Thank you both for your help.”

“Well, it was nothing and we are glad to help.” Trixie replied rubbing the back of her head.

“You said it because you didn’t have to move the squirrels. Look at my arms.”  Melanie added showing her scratched forearms. “Besides, you forgot to thank Berry. She helped us locate the creatures in danger.”

“Thank you, but I hardly helped. For me was easy to locate the animals in danger, because I can communicate with the trees.” Bellow on the ground, the wooden fairy replied. “I’ve been rooted to the ground for many years and I’ve learned to hear with my roots. It’s a way all trees have to communicate between them. It’s hard to explain, you would have to experience it to understand it.”

“No thank you, Berry, I’m fine like this.” Melanie replied and the rest laughed.

Then the ground rumbled and a loud growl was heard that made birds flee. “Oh, my! Kokornak woke up and she is not happy. I must go now.”

Limon left the others behind and headed for the tall pine. Melanie and Trixie looked at each other and grinned. They then turned to Berry and the bush fairy gulped.

Back at the Pine tree, Limon was knelt before a ghostly white image about the size of a human ten year old. It was the image of a young elemental with no wings, short hair and clothing made out of plants similar to Limon’s.

“I was awakened by several of my trees begging help as they burned. My forest was in danger and what you were doing.” The imposing image enquired.

“I was chasing the pair of intruder fairies when the fire started.” Limon replied.

“Good, you capture them?” Kokornak asked smirking.

“Not exactly…” Limon replied gulping. “They…”

“They escaped?!” the dryad said angry.

“No, we didn’t escaped, Coconut.” Trixie voice interrupted while both fairies carried Berry. “We returned to help Limon with the fire and we are here to request help for our friend, Berry.

“Is that true, Limon?” Kokornak asked and Limon nodded face-palming.

The image disappeared and then the trunk opened. From inside the Pine trunk came walking a small elemental. It was exactly as the large image, but about four fifths of the size of Trixie and Melanie. The creature was carrying a wooden club. Kokornak approached the intruder fairies giving two soft hits to their heads with her club.

“Ouch!” Both fairies exclaimed rubbing her head.

“That was for causing trouble and be grateful I don’t punish you for helping saving our forest.” Kokornak told Melanie and Trixie and walked back to her tree. “The burned plants will regenerate with Limon’s magic. You are free to go.”

“Wait, Coconut! Berry warned us before the explosion, she felt the danger with her feet. She helped locate animals in danger so we could rescue them from the fire. The real hero is she and you keep her trapped as a tree.” Melanie defended the enchanted fairy.

“Yes, you are a meanie, Coconut!” Trixie added.

Kokornak turned around and Limon just closed her eyes shaking her head. She banged again the two fairies in the head and then approached Berry. The poor transformed fairy shook in fright as she looked at the Dryad in the eyes.

“I remember you. You tried to steal my magic jewel a hundred years ago, don’t you?” Kokornak asked Berry face to face and then added. “Did you learn your lesson?”

Gulping, Berry nodded. Kokornak turned around once more and then raised her club. The bush fairy started to glow as she changed back to normal. Only her hands, forearms, feet, lower legs, wings and hair remained turned into a bush.

“Limon, she is going to be your new assistant. I’ll let Berry move freely only here in the forest. If she escapes, she will be turned back into a bush. I hope it’s clear. Now I’ll continue with my nap.” Kokornak stated and got into her trunk.

“Wait cocon…” Trixie said, but Limon wrapped her in vines with her staff.

After the trunk closed with Kokornak inside it, Limon took the fairies away from the tree. Melanie was still upset for the two lumps on her head for the hits the dryad’s gave her with the club. Following them was Berry looking at her hands and feet.

“Are you crazy?” Limon told both fairies. “You were lucky she didn’t transform you both into slugs. The risk wasn’t worth it.”

As the fairies discussed, Berry walked around them looking at the plants. Then she started jumping and running in joy around them. The recently freed creature then extended her wooden hands and a butterfly landed on them. Her happiness was evident.

“I’m free! At last, I’m free!” Berry exclaimed excited. “This is so beautiful.”

Then she started sobbing. A pair of tears fell down her cheeks. The hope of getting free from the century long entrapment was something she had gave up. She was so happy she couldn't help to cry.

“I think it was worth it.” Melanie stated. “And now you have someone help you watch over this backyard garden, Limon”.

“Why you…” Limon said raising her staff. “This is a FOREST!”

“Bring it on, salad.” Melanie said as her fists were engulfed in magic fire.

From one of the building roofs around the park, a little creature spied over the park. She had a telescope made out of human household materials. The fairy size intruder focused in one of the fighting fairies. She looked at the red-haired fairy while sneering.

The end?
Conclusion to the fairy story. Save the bush!

Part 1: Clash of the fairies Limon's saga 1
LIMON, THE FOREST GUARDIAN
As the sun had raised less than an hour before, the city began to awake up. The street lights turned off automatically as soon as the sun light invaded the sensors. The traffic gradually increased as the citizens welcomed the new day.
There is a small park at the other side of the street from the apartment building where Rachel lives. The park comprehends just four city blocks of downtown, but it has a grassy hill for picnics, playground for little children, a small fountain with benches around it, an area with tall trees at the center and a track around its perimeter for jogging. It resembles a small island of wilderness engulfed by the city.
On the center of the park, a couple walked into the tree area. The vegetation was so dense in the center that you couldn’t see the streets and barely have a glimpse of the tall buildings. The young couple had spent all night out enjoying the nocturnal life the city offered them and they ended in the park after the

BERRY, THE BUSH FAIRY
Trixie instead of escaping to Rachel apartment, she hid in nearby rocks. She was worried for Melanie and wanted to help her friend, but was too scared of the Guardian fairy. Trixie pondered for a moment on what to do.
“I got to save Mel, but she is a forest guardian. If she reports me, I could lose the custody of Rachel.” Trixie talked to herself. “Poor Rachel, she’ll be all alone by herself. What I should do.”
Trixie closed her eyes and started remembering her talk with Rachel. It took place around an hour before while Rachel was still asleep. The faire used her magic and levitated a tray with breakfast over Rachel’s bed.
“Good morning, Rachel. Wakie-wakie.” Trixie said with joy.
Rachel waked up and without noticing the tray; she accidentally hit it spilling the milk and juice over the bed covers. “Look what you did, bug! I just washed these!”
“But Rachel I did this for you.” Trixie said worr
