THE ENEMY

The girls arrived back at the old dojo. The girls had already separately decided to let Jun go. But when they arrived there, Jun had already escaped. Only the silk ribbons remained on the floor. Both girls looked at each other, and Kanami signalled that they should retreat.

From the shadows, came a metal chain wrapping around Ayase's legs and dropping her to the floor. Kanami tried to help her sister but a huge shadow came from behind, swinging an enormous sword. Kanami dodged, and hit him several times with her boot blades but he kept coming after her. Ayase was trying to free herself from the chain as she watched her sister battle in the dark dojo.

Ayase, her mask still in place and unable to speak aloud, could not warn Kanami about another person coming to attack her from behind. A well-placed sword hit to Kanami's feet cut both of her heels off as she fell onto her back.

"Stop, Oushi (ox)!" said a voice, and the huge man pulled back his sword. At this point Kanami finally realized what was going on. A man more than six feet tall and at least 300 pounds in weight was standing in front of her, dressed in heavy samurai armour. He had a huge sword in his right hand; the sword itself was both larger and heavier than either of the girls. With one blow from it he already had cut clean through one of the wooden pylons of the dojo.

Standing on the other side of the room was Jun. He was holding the other end of the chain which bound Ayase legs. And two more persons were standing astride Kanami, one with a sword in hand and the other with his arms crossed upfront.

He was a forty-two year old man; he had some grey hair, and was bold at the front part of his head. The man was wearing expensive silk cloths and had a highly detailed black sword.

Aside of him was another enormous man also wearing heavy armour and carrying a big sword too. He was a couple inches smaller that Oushi also barely thinner and younger than him.

The forty-two year old man knelt down beside Kanami. “So, you were looking for me?” he asked.  Kanami decide he had to be Mitsuyoshi Akagi.

“I don't know what kind of material your strange boots are made of, but I'm surprised that my sword didn't cut your feet off, as I'd intended to do," said Akagi.

"Kuma (bear), it looks like Matsudaria sent two kunoichis (female ninjas) to try to kill me. That is shameful; I would have expected at least an army." Akagi told the man aside of him.

The men started to laugh as Kanami tried to analyze the situation. She had no heels; if she stood to fight, she would barely be able to maintain her balance. She had lost her blades as well; she had no weapons with which to attack the four armed men. She began to panic as she realized that, by loosing her heels, she could not remove the mask or her boots. Kanami began to imagine herself trapped like this forever.

Jun began to tie Ayase's feet with the chain. Saying as he did that she was very sexy and he wanted her to spend the night with him. Kanami came up with a desperate idea, and began to mumble inside her mask. Akagi pulled her mask aside. "You wanted to say something, girl?”

“Yes, I want to know how you got the Chinese disease (Syphilis).” she told him.

Akagi's face turned red.  He went directly to Jun and furiously shouted in his face. “Why did you tell this girl I had the Chinese disease? Only my closest warriors know that!”

Jun realized Akagi was going to kill him “I'm sorry master I-I was. . .”

Before he could finish, Akagi plunged his sword into Jun’s belly, and then pulled it free and sliced his head off. Then he cleaned the sword and strode angrily toward the front door. Kanami’s plan was working far better than she had expected. Instead of fighting four people alone, she had gotten rid of Jun, and even better, Akagi was now too angry to think clearly. “Kuma, kill both girls, leave their bodies and set this dojo on fire,” Akagi told the younger of the two strongmen.

“Yes master,” Kuma replied, pulling his monstrous sword.

“Oushi, follow me back to the fortress,” Akagi ordered as he walked out.

“LET ME KILL THEM MASTER AKAGI,” Oushi asked Akagi.

“Be quiet and obey me!” Akagi shouted madly “Let your brother Kuma take care of these pests!”

In silence, Oushi followed Akagi. Kuma with his large sword approached Kanami. She climbed back to her feet, fighting to keep her balance. The man dressed in armour was her only adversary left.

Kanami was moving around Kuma while balancing on the toes of her boots. Ayase was struggling to free herself, but the chain was too tightly wrapped around her legs. Kuma attacked Ayase with his sword, but she was more concerned with keeping balance than striking back.

Kuma was very strong, but not as strong and quick as his big brother Oushi. During one of Kuma's attacks, Kanami lost her balance and fell to the floor. Kuma tried to hit her while she was down, but he missed and his sword became stuck in the floor. Kanami kicked Kuma several times, but his armour was too thick to do much damage.

Then Kanami remembered Matsudaria's Setsudan-Matsu (cutting pine) technique. She moved toward Jun’s body, as Kuma finally managed to pull his sword from the floor and stood up straight. Kanami kicked Jun’s decapitated head directly into Kuma’s face; he dropped his sword from his hands as he reached up for his face. Kanami then came forward and kicked with all her power at the armour across Kuma's stomach.

Kuma’s guts and backbone spattered across the walls of the dojo with a loud boom.

Kanami rested for a few moments and then moved to help her sister unwrap the chain from her legs. A few minutes later Ayase was freed and helped Kanami balance on her tiptoes as they left the abandoned dojo together as they took their ribbons, leaving the two corpses behind.

The next morning, after a couple of hours walking in the woods, both of them arrived at Matsudaria house. After resting, Ayase told all that had happened last night to their sensei. Matsudaria examined Kanami’s boots and told them that both great strength and technique had been needed to break those heels as Akagi had.

Fearing the worst, Kanami mumbled at Matsudaria and he pulled her mask so she could speak. Kanami then asked Matsudaria nervously if he could remove the boots from her feet. “Ayase, press Kanami’s boot- locking devices with either of your heels,” Matsudaria commanded.

Kanami’s fears vanished as she saw her boot-locks opened. Using her heels, Ayase removed her sister’s mask as well and helped her to take off the now-heelless boots.

Over dinner, Matsudaria explained to the girls all about the locking devices. “Your heels are not keys to open specific locks; they just are small enough to fit inside the holes of the release buttons. You can use anything thin and hard enough to fit inside to open them.”

As Kanami and Matsudaria were talking, Ayase ate a bowl of rice using chopsticks. Her skilful use of the chopsticks with her feet was incredible. She was amused at seeing Lin on the other side of the table having trouble even holding the chopsticks with her toes. Lin was both frustrated and hungry as Ayase looked into Lin’s eyes, smiling while she ate her own rice.

Kanami continued talking to Matsudaria. “Last night I was really worried I would never be able to take off the boots, and it almost made me lose the fight. It also taught me we need to have better balance, and that we should not have to depend only on the blades of our boots as our only weapons. I want to use the heelless boots to improve our balance.”

“I agree with you Kanami," Matsudaria replied, "but you will need to train more than just your balance. Akagi is not an ordinary man, his skills are extraordinary. I will have to teach you new techniques, how to battle against multiple adversaries at the same time, alone, and how to use other weapons beside your boot blades. And also you will have to help Lin in her training. Lin has much to learn before she goes out with you. Let this experience be a lesson to all of us to be better prepared next time.”

The heelless boots were used regularly by both Kanami and Ayase to better train for balance, while they helped Lin with her own training. And less than a week later, Kanami's new and improved blade boots were ready.

SADNESS
Two weeks had passed since the day the girls had put their dresses on. The training had not stopped, but now they had more spare time to help Matsudaria in the smithy and with the daily tasks at the dojo. As the days got colder, Matsudaria gave each student an ankle long winter kimono made of silk to cover their legs and back from the cold weather.
Matsudaria began to teach the girls how to work the steel to make weapons. He wanted to make special weapons for them to use in combats and also to keep their minds occupied on other matters, especially Ayase.
Ayase was still depressed, because she hadn't received the same opportunity as her sister to accept or decline wearing the dress. Kanami had helped her to accept her situation but Ayase found the idea of being like this forever frustrating. For the first couple of days, Ayase had spent most of the time sleeping and she barely ate, until Matsudaria finally ordered her to train and to help him in the smithy when she was no

Part 2  Sestudankanja 2b
RETURNING HOME
On their way to the village, they saw a fire in a nearby forest. They thought it was someone camping near the village, so they approached. But instead of a normal camp they spied something shameful--four shadow ninjas had kidnapped three teenage girls, and had tied them up. Even worse, one of the ninjas was touching and kissing one of the girls as she struggled to get away from him. “Come on let’s have some fun. Give me a kiss.”
But as soon as he put his lips together and closed his eyes the ninja felt pain in his mouth and saw a bright flash as he landed in the campfire fire. While he was trying to put out his burning clothes, his companions drew their swords at the two mysterious figures that had arrived. Kanami and Ayase were dodging and blocking all the attacks from the ninjas at tremendous speed as the captive girls saw everything--they didn't know what was going on, and they believed that the ninjas were fighting a pair of demons or evil creatures
